BLACK HISTORY MONTH 2024

bold@hyve supports Black History Month, celebrated annually in February in the US and October in the UK. These months are a dedicated time to honor and recognize the achievements, contributions, and history of Black people is the African Diaspora. It serves as a platform to reflect on the struggles, resilience, and cultural impact of the Black community throughout history. The month provides an opportunity for education, awareness, and celebration of the pivotal role Black peoples have played in shaping the cultural, social, and economic fabric of the United States and beyond.

ADA STEP OUT WALK

bold@hyve has partnered with the American Diabetes Associates for our annual Virtual Step Out Walk to gain insight, educate, and walk to support diabetes research. 

Did you know…  

  • Diabetes is a chronic (long-lasting) health condition that affects how your body turns food into energy affecting 37.3 million American adults. That’s about 1 in every 10 people. 
  • Diabetes is a major cause of blindness, kidney failure, heart attacks, stroke, and lower limb amputation.

JUNETEENTH

Juneteenth, short for June 19th, commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States. On this day in 1865, Union General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas, to announce that slavery had been abolished. Juneteenth stands as a symbol of freedom and the end of slavery, marking a significant moment in American history. Celebrated annually, it emphasizes the importance of African American heritage, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of equality.
