Hyve Enters AI-Era Network Switch Market with Vertically Integrated Solutions

Your GPUs are plenty fast, but are your network switches ready for the AI workload? Many aren’t. AI workloads demand high bandwidth, high radix and ultra-low latency- capabilities that most traditional switches can’t deliver.

Compounding the performance problem are unnecessarily costly supply chains. Switch manufacturers opt not to do rack integration, and rack integrators typically don’t build switches. As a result, hyperscalers pay ODMs to build switches, then transport them to separate integration companies — two vendors, two contracts, double the complexity, and neither are optimized for AI performance. Having an ODM design and manufacture switches as well as integrate them into racks is a streamlined, performance-driven solution that reduces cost, risk, and time to deployment.

Hyve Solutions solves both problems. After nearly 15 years of establishing world-scale expertise in network rack integration for major hyperscalers, Hyve has expanded into custom switch manufacturing, building AI-optimized networking platforms with true vertical integration.

Responding to Customer Needs

Michael Lane, VP of Networking at Hyve, describes how this expansion stemmed from multiple hyperscalers approaching Hyve with their networking requests.

Hyperscalers recognize the value of simplicity. Instead of paying one partner to build the switch and another to integrate it, they see the advantage of having a single ODM handle everything — design, build and rack integration — in one seamless process. In addition, customers are requiring U.S.-based manufacturing for security and tariff considerations. As major hyperscalers focus their infrastructure builds in the United States, they want partners who manufacture domestically.

For over a decade, Hyve has integrated network racks for hyperscalers. Now, Hyve can similarly scale switch production, either as stand-alone items or to integrate inside those racks.

Two Platforms, Shared Engineering

Hyve is launching its networking portfolio with two complementary switch platforms, both built on Broadcom’s proven ASIC technology. This approach gives customers choice while leveraging shared engineering and manufacturing resources.

One Supplier, One Contract

Customer sampling begins in Q1’26 for Hyve’s custom Tomahawk 5 with custom Tomahawk Ultra samples following in Q2’26. As Lane says, Hyve wants customers to sample our switches and “kick the tires” to gain confidence in deploying the platform at scale.

By the end of Q2’26, Hyve will offer fully vertically integrated racks using our own switches and proven integration expertise. One supplier, one contract, streamlined operations.

This represents more than product expansion. It’s supply chain evolution based on offering hyperscalers a single partner for complete network infrastructure solutions with the U.S.-based manufacturing they increasingly require.
