This line of servers come in a tamper-evident, heavy-duty enclosure that is built as per the FIPS 140-2 Level 2 security standard. The server comes in 2U chassis with an optimized rugged enclosure that is compliant to MIL-standards. It is rack-mountable, with front ports, featuring 4th Gen Intel® Xeon, DDR5 memory, NVMe SSD storage, and up to three NVIDIA® L4 GPU components.
Hyve’s Rugged Edge Server
Hyve’s Rugged Edge server is built for modularity, durability, flexibility and reliability. It adheres to MIL-STD-810H, which ensures that equipment can operate in extreme environmental conditions, including temperature, humidity, shock and vibration, sand and dust, and even changing atmospheric pressure. The Rugged Edge also meets requirements for electromagnetic compatibility, ensuring that the system remains entirely functional in the face of electromagnetic disturbances. FIPS-140 Level 2 security compliance ensures physical tamper proof and role-based access control (RBAC). This ensures that no unauthorized access is allowed. In case of any intrusions, the encryption keys can be wiped immediately based on the settings for the system.
Hyve’s Rugged Edge server optimizes processing of compute intensive workloads like large volume of Images, AI/ML workloads, AR/VR and other latency sensitive IoT applications, Mobile Edge Computing and 5G at the Edge. It can easily be installed, inside of submarines or in the back of Humvees or helicopters as the case might be.
Rugged Edge is compute optimized with up to 56 CPU cores and 1024GB of DDR5 DIMMs memory, to deliver the processing resources needed for complex workloads. For applications requiring AI/ML inference and local model training, the server is optimized with multiple NVIDIA GPUs. It can support up to 192TB of NVMe SSD storage memory for storing large volumes of data at the Edge.
Rugged Edge server features 400GB of Ethernet networking. The system is quite reliable for sustained operation or a graceful shutdown in the face of surrounding power loss.
Hyve optional ruggedized transport case offers additional protection in mobile deployments. While not always required, the case helps secure and protect the server during transit, even in challenging conditions like transport via military vehicles or helicopters.
